Mark Broekhuisen

Mark joined Van Traa in the beginning of 2022 and works within the Shipping & Offshore and Insurance team. He mainly advises and litigates in maritime matters, including inland shipping, such as maritime casualties, salvage, shipbuilding, bunkering, charterparties, bills of lading and ship arrests.

Before studying law, Mark completed the Bachelor of Maritime Operations at the Higher Maritime Academy in Rotterdam. During his studies, he gained experience as a nautical and technical officer on board several vessels. In addition to the master Maritime & Transport Law, Mark also studied Urban, Port & Transport Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Mark is a member of the Rotterdam Young Bar Association (Vereniging Jonge Balie Rotterdam) and the Dutch Association for Transport Law (Nederlandse Vereniging voor Vervoerrecht)(NVV).
