Our social responsibility
Van Traa is socially involved. We strive to diminish our ecological foot print as much as possible by, among others things, working digitally and having a sustainable office – as well as being affiliated with various socially orientated organizations.
We feel a responsibility to contribute to the sustainability of society and the most important climate goals: CO2 neutrality, no unnecessary waste production, where possible energy reduction through efficient use of energy and in a more general sense reduction of our footprint. We make green and sustainable choices as much as possible, for example, by purchasing ecological and recyclable office materials and recycling them, reducing plastic and paper consumption, reducing the use of energy where possible and through sustainable transport. To further shape our commitment, we have joined the UN Global Compact Network for a more sustainable, inclusive and just society starting in 2023.
Many of our people are involved in civil society organizations, such as Stichting Rotterdams Zeilschip, The Kunsthal, the Netherlands Protestant Church (PKN) and the Dutch Traffic Safety Organisation Veilig Verkeer Nederland.
Furthermore, Van Traa contributes to Stichting Jarige Job.
Research by the Dutch Social Planning Agency (Sociaal Cultureel Planbureau (SCP) shows that ten thousands of children in The Netherlands are socially excluded because they grow up in poverty. They cannot join school trips and cannot become a member of a sports club. Often, they cannot even afford to celebrate their birthday and out of the shame, they call in sick.
Van Traa supports Stichting Jarige Job in ways we can, by offering legal advice, financial support and having our people help pack the Birthday Boxes.
